Jack has a Bachelor of Commerce focused in Data Processing from Concordia
University.


An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
Speaker: Roger VandommeFounder & Data Scientist – SMC.ai


During the last 5 years, the digital revolution took a radical turn with the rise of Artificial Intelligence. It is now obvious that its omnipresence in our future lives is inevitable, therefore it is more important than ever to understand its origins and uncover its secrets. Roger created and manages a data science boutique, SMC. He is also a founding partner of Plendify, a fintech and digital marketplace empowering businesses in Africa.


Roger Vandomme’s career has been built on the fundamentals of data analysis, predictive modeling and related decision-making. With 20 years in the credit bureau industry, creating credit scores all around the world, Roger has an outstanding unmatched skill-set in the field of predictive modeling. Roger teaches business analytics and Machine Learning at the University of Toronto, as well as operational planning at the Canadian Forces College. Through his YouTube channel (SMC - Your Guide to Artificial Intelligence), Roger aims to demystify artificial intelligence.

Speaker: Aaron Goertzen- Senior Economist & Director – BMO Capital Markets


This session will review the current economic environment and the outlook for interest rates, growth and the labour market.


Aaron Goertzen contributes to a diverse cross-section of activities within BMO Economics. His coverage of the North American agri-food industry is widely distributed to clients and the media, while his agricultural forecasts appear in each issue of The Goods, the department’s commodity price publication. Aaron also contributes to the department’s country risk program, reporting on economic and political risk across a wide range of jurisdictions. He also plays a central role developing macroeconomic scenarios for the bank’s stress testing and financial reporting activities. Aaron joined BMO Economics in 2012.


Prior to joining BMO, Aaron was an economist at the Department of Finance Canada. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of Toronto and a CFA charter.
