Mark Wilson has over 30 years of experience in the technical development of complex information technology systems. He is known for his ability to adeptly manage large-scale projects and is consistently an early adopter of emerging technologies, including early engagement with the emerging field of machine learning.

He leads a team of technology experts in the advancement of all eCapital platforms, products, and infrastructure. Mark’s previous roles include working with multinational organizations such as Ernst & Young LLP and forming his own consulting firm where he developed customized solutions for clients such as Research in Motion and the BMW Group. Mark holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

This presentation examines corporate credit risk with a focus on the key qualitative and quantitative indicators that make up credit ratings. It explains how shifts in business risk, financial risk, and modifiers such as liquidity, and capital structure have the potential to influence rating outcomes and how these factors are assessed within a forward-looking credit framework. The presentation also highlights early warning signals that may indicate a potential upgrade or downgrade.

 

Zain Bukhari is an Associate Director in Risk & Valuations at S&P Global Market Intelligence. With more than nine years at the company he contributes to credit risk assessments and financial valuations across a range of asset classes. A lifelong Star Wars fan, he enjoys boxing, kayaking, and spending his time-off with his family.
